Job Description

About Us

CC Pines is an Australian-owned, family-founded construction company with a 45-year track record of delivering complex, high-risk projects that other contractors won't touch, from embassy builds in Morocco to Defence infrastructure across the Pacific. We work with the Australian Department of Defence, DFAT, and the US Department of Defence, and we've never had a reportable safety incident. We're big enough to run world-class projects, small enough that your voice actually gets heard.

Our values, humble, hungry, smart, aren't a poster on the wall. They're how we pick our people and how we run our projects.

Why This Role?

  • Sydney based, Darwin exposure. Keep your home base and your routine, while adding genuine Territory project experience and Defence-linked work to your CV.
  • Real ownership. This isn't a support seat, you'll independently manage procurement, variations, claims and forecasting across your own work packages.
  • A clear path up. This role is structured to progress from P3 to P4, with the scope and support to genuinely grow into it.
  • Mentorship built in. You'll work closely with senior commercial leadership and, as you step up, start guiding junior CAs yourself.
  • Travel and support handled. Flights, accommodation and travel logistics for site visits are organised and covered, so you can focus on the work.
  • Career runway. Darwin's Defence and infrastructure pipeline is booming, and this role puts you right in the middle of it.

A Bit About Darwin

Darwin is Australia's tropical capital, all warm weather, harbourside living, and a laid-back pace that's hard to find on the east coast. When you're on-site, think Mindil Beach sunsets, weekend trips to Litchfield and Kakadu National Parks, and a genuinely relaxed dry season (roughly May to October) with some of the best year-round outdoor conditions in the country. Darwin also sits in the Zone A remote tax area, so if a future move north is ever on your radar, there are real financial perks that come with it too.

What you'll be doing:

  • Reviewing and preparing subcontracts in line with head contract terms and client requirements
  • Coordinating subcontractor engagement, tender analysis and onboarding
  • Administering variations, claims and extensions of time, and keeping commercial records fully traceable
  • Maintaining cost forecasts and budgets alongside the Project Manager
  • Preparing upstream notices, claims and subcontractor correspondence
  • Maintaining contract registers, insurances and compliance documentation, audit-ready at all times
  • Coordinating close-out documentation, including as-constructed drawings, warranties and O&M manuals
  • Contributing to monthly progress claims and commercial reporting
  • Supporting and mentoring junior Contract Administrators as you step up toward P4

Desired Skills and Experience

What You Bring

  • A degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering or a related discipline
  • 3–6 years' contract administration experience on commercial, infrastructure or government projects
  • Working knowledge of AS 4000, AS 2124, GC21 and subcontract administration processes
  • Proven experience in procurement, subcontract negotiation, cost tracking and claims management
  • Actively pursuing or recently completed CAPM® certification (PMI) is a plus
  • Proficiency in Jobpac, Procore, Aconex and Excel
  • The ability to independently manage multiple trade packages and keep project outcomes on track
  • Willingness to travel to Darwin for site visits as required

Ready to Take Ownership and Take Off?

If you want a role where you'll genuinely run your own work packages, build toward a P4 promotion, and add a standout Territory project to your career, we'd love to hear from you.
